In a joint effort to foster environmental awareness and promote sustainability, Ecocenter and Polyvim are thrilled to announce the launch of a school competition aimed at engaging students in eco-friendly practices. This initiative, slated to run from April 10 to November 30, is designed to empower schools in Rustavi to actively contribute to environmental conservation efforts while instilling a sense of responsibility towards the planet among students.
- Competition Details: The competition focuses on collecting plastic and paper waste, with the aim of incentivizing schools to actively participate in waste management and recycling activities. Schools will be tasked with gathering plastic and paper materials throughout the designated collection period, with collection points conveniently located at Ecocenter and Polyvim facilities.
- Seedling Rewards for Sustainable Actions: As an incentive for participation, schools will be rewarded with tree seedlings for their efforts in waste collection. For every 50 kilograms of plastic and paper collected, schools will receive a tree seedling to plant on their premises. This initiative not only encourages schools to contribute to waste reduction but also promotes the importance of reforestation and green spaces in urban environments.
- Participation Guidelines: Participation in the competition is open to all schools in Rustavi. Interested schools are required to register for the competition by filling out the registration form provided by Ecocenter and Polyvim. Collection of plastic and paper waste will take place on specified dates, with Ecocenter and Polyvim facilitating the collection process.
- Environmental Education and Community Engagement: Beyond waste collection, the competition serves as an educational opportunity for students to learn about environmental conservation, recycling, and the importance of sustainable practices. Through interactive workshops, educational materials, and community engagement activities, students will gain valuable insights into environmental issues and become advocates for positive change in their communities.
- Promoting Sustainable Citizenship: By actively participating in the competition, schools not only contribute to tangible environmental outcomes but also cultivate a culture of sustainability within their student body and broader community. Through their actions, schools demonstrate a commitment to responsible citizenship and inspire others to take proactive steps towards a greener future.
As champions of environmental stewardship, Ecocenter and Polyvim are proud to launch this school competition, empowering students to become agents of change in the fight against climate change and environmental degradation. Together, let us nurture green minds, foster sustainable habits, and create a brighter, more resilient future for generations to come.
